The latest trailer for ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is here!

I was a huge fan of the How to Train Your Dragon series, so I was hesitant when I heard about the upcoming live-action remake. However, the return of original trilogy director Dean DeBlois to helm both the film and its script is a promising sign.

We finally got our first glimpse of the film a few months ago, and now Universal Pictures has unveiled its latest trailer. While it shares many of the same scenes as the first trailer, it also offers us more glimpses of Hiccup and Toothless’ first encounter, multiple dragons in the training arena, and a group of Vikings under attack.

While much of the footage in this latest trailer has already been seen before, there’s just the right amount of new footage to build further anticipation for the movie. What’s particularly of note is the additional emphasis on Hiccup and Toothless’ first meeting. It seems clear that the current marketing strategy for the film is focused heavily on showcasing the recreation of specific scenes that resonate with fans of the original while introducing the world of How to Train Your Dragon to a whole new generation.

While remaking such a beloved film is undoubtedly a way to attract already-established fans, Universal Pictures should start providing us with more than just what we’ve already seen.
